NVSS TEACHSPEECH APP

The NVSS TeachSpeech App reimagines how speech support can be delivered by placing accessible, evidence-informed resources directly in the hands of those who work closest with children. Designed for families, educators, and communication professionals, the app supports consistent, meaningful practice beyond scheduled therapy sessions.

TeachSpeech includes step-by-step training videos, interactive games, and printable resources developed to support mastery of speech sounds while equipping adults with the knowledge and confidence to guide practice effectively.

Powered by NVSS’s proprietary ArticulateAI™ technology, the app analyzes speech attempts in real time and provides responsive feedback tailored to the learner. The platform also features Animated Articulation, developed in collaboration with Elsevier, offering 3D motion visualizations that demonstrate how speech sounds are formed to support clearer understanding of articulation for both children and adults.

Recognizing the importance of linguistic and communication diversity, the platform also includes:

  • Language Libraries — collaborative and evolving collections of vocabulary and speech resources developed in partnership with school translators and language keepers, aligned with community-led priorities and OCAP principles.

  • American Sign Language (ASL) Portal & Plains Indigenous Sign Language (PISL) Portal — developed in partnership with Saskatchewan Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, providing accessible sign language resources to support inclusive communication.

  • Printable Games & Activities — engaging materials designed for screen-free practice at home or in the classroom.
